Italian Meatballs, Perfect Every Time

Are your meatballs too dry?  Are they rubbery, or mushy?  Follow this foolproof recipe and you will have perfect meatballs every time, guaranteed.  You will receive many compliments, and everyone will want to know your secret!

  • 1 pound of ground beef
  • 1 cup of your favorite tomato sauce
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup seasoned Italian breadcrumbs

You can double or triple the recipe, just be sure to maintain the ratio of sauce, egg and breadcrumbs per pound of meat.

In a large bowl whisk together the egg and tomato sauce.  Add the ground beef and work it into the tomato sauce mixture.  Add all of the breadcrumbs and mix thoroughly (use your hands).

Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.  Coat lightly with cooking spray.  Form 12-14 meatballs and arrange them on the baking sheet leaving space in between.  Broil 5 minutes on each side, turning once.

It’s that easy!  Add the broiled meatballs to your favorite sauce and keep warm until ready to serve.  Do not allow the sauce to come to a boil.
